Roadshow 2007

At last! As part of the 2007 Highland Year of Culture, West Highland Animation are touring an Exhibition of animated films, games and comics which present Highland Myth and Legends in a way that you cannot help but enjoy! 

We are inviting you to a one hour CARTOON PROGRAMME where you will be asked to vote for the Tallest Story in two categories:

 

Stories from Tribes from the Indian Sub continent

- introduced by animated Gaelic comedian Norman MacLean.

 

 

 

Stories from all over the Highlands of Scotland – drawn, voiced and animated by Highland and Island children and introduced by Piney the Pine marten.

 

 

Your votes, along with others from all over the Highlands and Islands, will be counted and the winners will be awarded their Trophies at the Inverness Film Festival in November 2007.

In addition to stunning artwork in a wide variety of animation styles you will hear a range of top Celtic composers and musicians including  Martyn Bennett, Anna Wendy Stevenson, Ashley MacIsaac, Michael McGoldrick, Brian MacAlpine, Rory Campbell, Alan MacDonald from Muidart, Jean Baron on the Bombarde from Brittany, Xose Manuel Budino on Gaita from Galicia not to mention a host of others.

There will also be a wall Exhibition of original film artwork and animation activities for the children.

“Making the film was great good fun,” says Iain from Staffin Primary 5 Gaelic class. “Much better than Maths!” says Martin from Primary 7.

This Dualchas na Cloinne (Children’s Highland Heritage) Exhibition will be visiting a variety of venues all over the Highlands and Islands throughout the summer of 2007.

During the day you will be able to visit the bi-lingual Exhibition and in the evenings there will be a one hour animation programme.

These will all be free and will provide a whole day’s walk-in informative entertainment for the whole family

This Tour and Exhibition is funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), Bord na Gaidhlig, Leader+, the Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the Gaelic Media Services. It is supported by CNAG and Highland 2007.
